The PBS video below highlights the projects the D+I labs were involved in and thier impact. In the piece a hand spun length of white cotton thread is pulled around a rust red room, displaying the inconsistencies in the craft. But the machine that moves the tread through the system will eventually break the thread and sound a dull chime in alarm. The hand crafted thread is kept from entering into a sustained relationship with industry.
