During the Covid 19 pandemic I was fortunate to be the the manager of the Makerspace at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  The lab was involved in range of personal protective equipment (PPE) projects for UW Health that made a difference for hospital workers around the state and beyond.

The PBS video below highlights the projects the D+I labs were involved in and thier impact.

Pictured here is a selection of projects including; the face shield+ used by speach pathologies at UW Health, a low-cost compact PAPR that utilizes an off the shelf power supply, a battery adapeter for PAPR blowers asked to run 24/7, a PAPR hose adapter to connect existing equipment otherwise unsuable PAPR hoods, and custom face shidelds for surgons and othomologists.
